Position: Construction Supervisor
Hours of Work: 40 Hours/Week
Salary: $90,000 – $105,000
Construct operates as a linking Employment Social Enterprise within Blue Door that fosters labour market attachment for individuals facing barriers to employment in York Region providing training, supportive employment opportunities, case management and wraparound supports, finally supporting participants to receive their apprenticeship and/or gain employment in the construction trades.
Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of Construction, the Construction Supervisor will be responsible for managing the on site operations of the Construction arm of the Construct program. The Construction Supervisor will be responsible for the overall construction project coordination between clients, the on-site staff, subcontractors and any additional vendors while working on conjunction with the Project Coordinator. The Construction Supervisor must possess strong customer service and project management skills, be willing to operate in high stress environments and possess the ability to balance both social and economic goals of the Social Enterprise. Responsible for delivering every project on time within budget and scope and is responsible for the efficient operation and growth of the Social Enterprise.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all construction projects throughout the GTA, while working alongside and maintaining effective working relationships with all stakeholders of the organization.
- Work along side the Project Coordinator on assigned projects to facilitate all the requirements at the site level, and ensure project continuity throughout the lifecycle of the project.
- Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate construction projects from start to finish according to project schedule, construction schedules specifications, project budget and cost/cash flow projections.
- Manage the client relationship, being the main point of contact, responding to changes in scope, project delays and delivery, ensuring projects run smoothly and efficiently.
- Manage Forepersons and onsite staff to ensure efficiency, quality and productivity, works with forepersons to identify any work outside of scope for change orders and construction issues that may arise.
- Implement and ensure we are meeting all of our health and safety standards
- Engage in business development with the Construct team, drive growth by generating leads and establishing and maintaining client relationships.
- Support staff on job site as needed with completing projects.
- Attend site visits as needed.

- Meets with manager on a regular basis and participates in completion of annual performance evaluation.
Qualifications
- Ability to read and understand working drawings, shop drawings and scopes of work
- Thorough understanding of building principles and Ontario Building Code requirements
- Experience working with construction, CRM and health and safety software (ex: SiteDocs, Procore, Salesforce, etc.)
- Excellent communication (oral and written), time management and organizational skills
- Desire to support at-risk populations
- Valid Vulnerable Sector Screening Report from York Regional Police
- Valid Driver’s License and a clean driver abstract
- Experience with Procore or an equivalent project management system an asset
- Strong knowledge of OHSA Policy and Regulations
- Construction: 5+ years (Preferred)
- Management: 3+ years (Preferred)
