Community Living, Inn from the Cold and Blue Door Shelter need donations by Dec. 20

You can help keep some of our most vulnerable residents a little warmer this winter.

Community Living Central York, which provides services for people with intellectual disabilities from Newmarket, Aurora, East Gwillimbury, King Township and Whitchurch-Stouffville, is partnering with Blue Door Shelter and Inn from the Cold. Both of these housing providers serve York region residents who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless.

Their Share the Warmth campaign is collecting donations of new socks, mittens, underwear and hats. Donated items will be divided between the three agencies.

Donations can be dropped off until Dec. 20 at Community Living’s headquarters at 575 Penrose St. northwest of Bayview Avenue and Mulock Drive between 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
