Lace up your skates to help end homelessness at the upcoming Hockey Helps the Homeless tournament.

On April 12, hockey players will take to the ice at Iroquois Park Sports Centre in support of organizations working to help fight homelessness in Durham and York, including Back Door MissionDurham Youth Services and Blue Door.

NHL alumni will be among those hitting the ice to raise funds for programs that provide safe housing and vital support, with a focus on creating pathways out of homelessness.

“(Hockey Helps the Homeless) is one of the largest driving forces supporting organizations like Blue Door in their work to prevent and end homelessness and Blue Door is honoured to be a first-time beneficiary of the Durham tournament this year,” said Michael Braithwaite, CEO of Blue Door. “Through this incredible event, HHTH not only raises essential funds, but also builds awareness to help ensure everyone has a safe place to call home.”
