East Gwillimbury annual Toy and Food Drive taking donations until Dec. 16

Drop-off location includes fire stations, library branches and the Civic Centre

The Town of East Gwillimbury’s annual Toy and Food Drive is here.  Donations of non-perishable food items, gift cards, new unwrapped toys, toiletries and more are being accepted from Monday, Nov. 21 to Friday, Dec. 16.

Each year the town, along with the help of community members, schools and businesses, collect donations to support local charities and families in EG and York Region. Some of those charities include: Sandgate Women’s Shelter, Blue Door Shelter, Rose of Sharon, Salvation Army, Yellow Brick House, Women’s Centre, Mount Albert and Holland Landing Food Pantries and the St. James Food Closet.

Donation drop-off locations include:

Civic Centre, 19000 Leslie St., Sharon

Holland Landing Fire Station 2-4 19314 Yonge St., Holland Landing

Mount Albert Fire Station 2-6, 22 Princess St., Mount Albert

Queensville Fire Station 2-8, 1590 Queensville Side Rd., Queensville

East Gwillimbury Public Library, Holland Landing branch, 19513 Yonge St., Holland Landing

Mount Albert branch, 19300 Centre St., Mount Albert

Items in need:

Toiletries for men, women and babies

Warm winter clothing for men and women

Housewares, linens and sleeping bags

Baby items (formula and diapers)

Toys for children (all ages) and pre-teens

Non-perishable food items (please check the expiry date on food items)

Gift cards and monetary donations

Cash donations and cheques (made payable to the EG Toy and Food Drive) can be dropped off at customer service located inside of the Civic Centre. Pre-purchased gift cards can be placed in the drop box located at the front entrance of the Civic Centre.
