On Saturday, August 27th, Blue Door will be marking its fortieth-anniversary saving and transforming the lives of people experiencing homelessness in York Region.
All are welcome at the free community event called “Doors Unlocked”, which will feature interactive art, auctions, scavenger hunt, free BBQ, drinks available for purchase, and live local music from Yellow Magnolia, The Beresfords, and Mishe.
At this feel-good summer event sponsored by Enbridge, you will also have the opportunity to hear from lived experts as they share their experiences with homelessness and Blue Door.
Known for starting out and remaining the only emergency housing provider for men in York Region, Blue Door has become a leader in delivering dignified solutions and pathways out of homelessness and poverty. During the height of the pandemic, Blue Door launched three new transitional housing programs for senior men, families, and 2SLGBTQ+ youth as well as an employment social enterprise called Construct.
With more exciting and urgently needed growth on the horizon, “Doors Unlocked” guarantees to inspire and fill us with hope.
